Richard Sleeman is a much-awarded sportswriter and broadcaster with a career in journalism spanning forty years.

He started out as an AAP London correspondent before returning to Australia as a feature writer for The Australian newspaper and then The Sun. He has covered many of the major sports and news events over the past four decades, including five Olympic Games, the 1983 American’s Cup win in Newport, Rhode Island, several Commonwealth Games plus cricket, rugby and rugby league internationals, Wimbledon and US Open tennis and the British Open golf. In addition to Freddy he has authored and contributed to a number of books. He has also presented radio programs on 2GB, 2UE and 2KY.
