Publishing juggernauts like Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple are demolishing the Australian writing and publishing industry.

Sandy Grant. CEO. Hardie Grant Books Pty.Ltd.

The question the entire book industry needs to ask is how does it continue to exist, let alone compete, in an environment where customers are choosing international retailers who can source books at cheaper prices from wholesale markets?

Don Grover. CEO. Dymocks Book Stores

Given the current state of book publishing in Australia, it is very difficult for first time authors to have manuscripts accepted by the major publishing companies. Consequently, we are accepting very few new clients. Only exceptional stories and writing will find acceptance in the current market.  Publishers mostly rely on big name overseas authors for guaranteed sales.

Initial inquiries to Bruce Kennedy Management should be made by email. Submissions should only be sent by post at our request. We prefer to see only a short synopsis (maximum 3 pages). If we are interested in your proposal we will telephone you to discuss further. Submissions should be sent to us after contacting us.

We do not accept telephone enquiries or manuscripts sent by mail, unless requested.

Note: if you send us a brief synopsis of your work, make sure we are the only agent considering your proposal. We cannot sell a work if every publisher in Australia has already rejected it.
